Tonya J. Harmon

Tonya Harmon is the President and CEO of Harmony Information Systems, Inc. (Harmony) and is the original principle architect of Harmony.  Since founding HarmonyIS in 1998, Tonya has overseen the implementation of Harmony and its associated suite of information management products in over 50 customer sites.  Tonya provides the strategic and technical vision for Harmony and its product lines.  Tonya also plays a lead role in the sales cycle.  She has instituted several partnership agreements for Harmony with other vendors and leading systems integrators for the successful installation of Harmony.  Tonya has designed, developed and supported human services information systems throughout the United States and Canada, both as a software developer and as an MIS manager for a large public behavioral health organization.  In addition to software development, Tonya has also consulted with state and local governments to assist in the development of integrated systems of care, creating cross-agency platforms to share information about consumers receiving services in multiple agencies.  Tonya has also performed business process analyses and has conducted data audits in many State-run inpatient psychiatric facilities and substance abuse clinics.

Tonya has over 20 years of experience using and developing enterprise-wide relational database applications in health and human services, banking, law, and insurance.  She has spent over 25 years working and volunteering in health, social service and behavioral health programs, which has given her intimate knowledge of the information management needs of health and human service payer, provider, and regulatory agencies.  Harmony and the services Harmony employs to implement its products reflect that knowledge.  Tonya holds an undergraduate degree in mathematics from the University of Waterloo and completed coursework towards an MBA at George Washington University.
